Flash is the industry standard software for visually rich interactive content enhanced with audio and video for delivery via the web or as standalone content for presentations, training and learning material.
This course is designed to be an introduction for those wishing to learn how to use Flash. The main features of the software will be explored in detail.
The course is delivered through instructor led, hands-on exercises tempered with overviews, demonstrations, discussions and individual practice.
Suitable For
Those completely or fairly new to Flash looking to create visually rich, animated, interactive, digital content with sound and video for web and standalone delivery.
Prerequisites
A good working knowledge of the computer and its operating system - for example to be at ease with: opening, closing, saving and locating files; using standard menus, commands and windows.
Course Content
- Overview of Flash content, file types, workflows and delivery options
- FLAs, SWFs, bitmaps, sound, video, web delivery, standalone delivery, importance of version.
- Getting acquainted
- The main workspace, Library, Timeline, Property Inspector, previewing, publishing.
- Working with graphics
- Strokes, fills, gradients, patterns, transparencies, text.
- Creating and editing symbols
- Importing Illustrator and Photoshop files, symbols, colour effects, blends, filters, 3D effects.
- Adding animation
- Animating position, pace, timing, transparency, filters, 3D animation.
- Creating interactive navigation
- Buttons, event handlers with ActionScript 3, implementing navigation, transition effects.
- Working with sound and video
- Using sounds, Flash Video, Adobe Media Encoder, embedded video, external video, cue points.
- Publising Flash documents
- Testing, Bandwidth Profiler, metadata, publishing for web delivery and standalone delivery.
