ActionScript is the programming language that adds rich functionality and interactivity to your Flash content. ActionScript not only allows you to create your Flash content in a more controlled and powerful manner but it also allows you to create content which is itself more powerful than anything you could achieve without ActionScript.

This course is designed to be an introduction for those wishing to learn ActionScript. ActionScript features relating to animation, interaction, preloaders and components will be examined.

The course is delivered through instructor led, hands-on exercises tempered with overviews, demonstrations, discussions and individual practice.

Suitable For

Those with no ActionScript experience - in fact, those with no coding experience at all. However, for those that feel they may find coding challenging, an ActionScript Primer course is strongly recommended as a precursor to this course. Please discuss in advance if unsure.

Those looking to move from basic ActionScript 2 coding to basic ActionScript 3 coding - there will inevitably be some overlap with existing ActionScript knowledge.

Prerequisites

Completion of the Flash CS5 - Introduction course or equivalent experience is ideal.
